Understanding the Crisis in Central African Republic

I was thrilled to speak with Louisa Lombard, an anthropologist at the University of California, Berkeley who has written and studied extensively in the Central African Republic. She adds nuance and context to the unfolding crisis there. We discuss how this crisis erupted; what the rebel groups grievances were, including discrimination against Muslim populations; the question of “Genocide;” and ways the new (female) President and international community can help resolve this calamity.

Watch and learn! I certainly did.
