Today’s map of the day comes from Children’s Chances. It shows the differences in the minimum age to legally marry between boys and girls. As you can see, there are dozens of countries in which girls are permitted to marry at a younger age than boys.

Child marriage is a human right violation and deterrent to economic development. Fortunately, there is growing international pressure to end child marriage.
