At 9 am this morning, USAID is launching a brand new global partnership focusing on infant mortality called Saving Lives at Birth to “seek innovative solutions to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in developing countries.” The partnership is a collaboration between several governments and philanthropies including USAID, the Norwegean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Grand Challenges Canada, the World Bank and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
I will be live tweeting the launch this morning in Washington, D.C. But you can watch a live stream at savinglivesatbirth.net. Secretary Clinton, USAID Administrator Raj Shah, Melinda Gates and representatives from the government of Norway, Grand Challenges Canada, and the World Bank will be on hand.
