UN Undersecretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman spoke in Washington, DC on Friday on the security situation in Africa and the Middle East, including updates on Mali, Somalia, and Syria.
Since 2004, Somalia has been ruled by the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), an attempt to slowly get Somalia back on its feet. The TFG experiment is now coming to an end, as a new permanent Constitution has been approved.
