A women’s farming cooperative in rural Senegal is reaping the benefits of a new solar power installation. What’s left unsaid in this video is that one of the funders of this new solar power system was the Global Environment Facility, is poised to receive a big boost thanks to the new Paris Climate Agreement. This is an 25 year old entity that is being harnessed in the new Paris Climate Agreement to facilitate more and more investments in clean energy technologies in the developing world. If all goes according to plan, we could see a major scaling up of these sorts of projects throughout sub-saharan Africa.
